Business to Business E-commerce

Many network services companies are gearing up to provide Virtual Private Network (VPN) capability that provides encryption services to protect confidential information on the public internet. This capability is new and the procedures for using the service are complex. It will take some time for users to learn the ropes.

In the meantime, you can setup an NT 4.0 server equipped with SrDA POP adapters. Order a few telephone lines from the local telephone company and simply plug them into a modular jack socket. Put your confidential information on this server and provide telephone numbers, User IDs, and Passwords to your important customers and suppliers. All they need is a standard Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser. When VPN services become available and users are trained, then connect your server to the internet and use the SrDA POP adapters and telephone lines as an Extranet backup.

Windows NT Server 4.0 extends beyond file, print, application and communications services to offer a complete and integrated Internet and Intranet platform. It comes complete with Microsoft Internet Information Server, Microsoft FrontPage web authoring tool and Index Server. Microsoft Office 97 puts everything in a web format. Web publication tools get better every day. By the year 2000, almost all business to business communications will be made using Intranet technologies. These business to business networks will be called Extranets. Why wait any longer?

Simple, powerful and easy to use. Your Extranet users will enjoy being able to quickly get the information needed to get their job done.
