$ave Long Distance Charges $ave long distance charges if the telephone number is local to the remote SrDA POP gateway. |
SrDATalk guides the user through the dial sequence with voice prompts. The user responds using DTMF keys. |
If someone answers the ring, a voice conversation can be undertaken. If the call rolls over into voice mail, you can leave a voice message. |
The user dials the remote telephone number after dialing the SrDA POP data port. The remote IP address is resolved by using the Domain Name Server (DNS). If the DNS cannot supply the IP address of the remote SrDA POP gateway, then a voice prompt instructs the user to supply the IP address using DTMF keys. |
The remote called station needs a handset and no special instructions. |
If you need to remain connected with a remote location for a long period (i.e. you want to collaborate on a design or manuscript for an eight hour session) then SrDATalk can provide a very good return on your investment.Unique logic allows acceptable voice conversations on TCP/IP circuits. For example, encoded digital voice data is transmitted only when someone is talking. Use of QOS and RSVP in future NT Server releases will enable better performance. Attention! you are getting a free ride on your data modem ports - this was NOT designed to replace the phone network. |
